Discount tickets to Broadway shows

If you choose to line up for tickets at the TKTS booth (Times Square or the Seaport location), what kind of wait can be expected ? We will be looking for show tickets for March 29 or 30, something family oriented, but we are not looking for one particular show - suggestions? What websites are good to look for discount tickets ahead of time if we do not wish to chance the lineups in nyc?

We have discovered from someone else%26#39;s post that online discounts on those dates are difficult (especially for kid friendly things.) b/c it%26#39;s Easter week. You can have a look on broadwaybox.com for discount codes but not sure there are any for those dates.

tdf.org will tell you about the 2 (yes 2) TKTS booths and what%26#39;s been available recently. The one downtonw across from the south Street Seaport is much less crowded AND you can buy matinee tickets there the day before. So in your shoes, I%26#39;d go down there on Tues for a wed matinee.

Hairspray, Fiddler on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Cookin%26#39; off Broadway. OH here%26#39;s an idea!!! Shockheaded Peter is off Broadway, is based on a children%26#39;s story book and got rave reviews in London. It%26#39;s available with a discount (from Playbill) for $41!! and good for your dates. Check on playbill.com (by registering for free) and/or broadwaybox.com
