The Brooklyn Cyclones

I%26#39;m visiting in August and want to watch a baseball game. I believe the season runs in August. I presume that New York Yankee tickets will be rather difficult to aquire. Having read previous posts I believe there is a team called the Brooklyn Cyclones who play on Coney Island. Is it possible to get tickets, when should I try to get them and(although this is a dumb question) where is Coney Island and how do I get there. There will be 3 of us going to the game.

If you read this post Ruffian42-well done to Chelsea on a deserved victory today. The best team won-although I can%26#39;t say that Mr. Mourinho is proving too popular with the neutrals.

Coney Island is accessible by subway. It%26#39;s in Brooklyn. Here%26#39;s the subway map.

I%26#39;ve heard kids love the Cylcone games.

Well, if not the Yankees, try the Mets. We have 2 major league teams in town. Depending on whom the Yankees are playing, you should be able to get tickets, not every game is sold out. Both Yankee %26amp; Shea stadiums are easily accessible via subway.

The Brooklyn Cycles is a minor league team, part of the Mets organization. Their website is www.brooklyncyclones.com, but the schudule is not yet available.

Coney Island is a beach community on the southern end of Brooklyn. It has a boardwalk, attractions, games, places to eat, kind of honky tonk but fun nonetheless. NYC%26#39;s only aquarium is located there, as is Nathans famous, known for their hot dogs and french fries. Coney Island has a very storied history, www.coneyisland.com, has gone through some hard times, but is making a comeback, albeit slowly. It will take about 1 hour via subway to get there, and although some think it is not worth the trip, I think that it is, just to get a real feel for NY and how many of its residents relax %26amp; play.

Hey, Steve. Looks like Gerrard scored his first for the Blues!

One piece of silverware down--two more to go.

The Cyclones individual games tickets go on sale May 1. You can access them at Brooklyncyclones.com. The schedule is posted on the website but the game times aren%26#39;t up yet. Most games start at 5 pm. That will give you plenty of time to enjoy a full day at Coney. Gotta go on the rides (especially the Cyclone roller coaster after which the team is named), have hot dogs at Nathan%26#39;s, walk along the Boardwalk and perhaps lie a bit on the beach, visit the Aquarium. Lots to do before game time. Also, one block away from the stadium are batting cages. For $2 you can grab a bat, get in the cage and a pitching machine throws about 25 or 30 balls at you. If you%26#39;ve never done it, you%26#39;ll get a good idea of how hard it is to hit a baseball.

You can get to Coney easily by subway. Tell me what hotel you%26#39;re staying at and I%26#39;ll give you specific directions. Trip should take about an hour.

I notice the Man. U. fans are getting all warm and wet now that they%26#39;re only 6 points down. But we%26#39;ve got a game in hand and it%26#39;s against West Brom. Somehow, I%26#39;m not too concerned about the Baggies. They may already be down by the time the game is re-played. And if I%26#39;m reading the reports accurately, Jose was thrown out of the game by a policeman for gesturing at Liverpool fans. How does that happen? Since when does a policeman throw a manager off the bench?
