Whenever I feel in the need for a good laugh, I check out the latest reviews on the Carter Hotel! Is this ';officially'; the worst hotel in New York, or are there others to rival it? Just curious!
Worst hotel in New York??
According to the Trip Advisor New York City Hotel rankings, there are actually 7 hotels ranked below the Carter, including the Manhattan Broadway. So if nayone%26#39;s stayed at the Manhattan Broadway, they can stay at the Carter and actually be moving up to a better hotel.
Worst hotel in New York??
The other two that regularly get tagged as ';worst'; are the Pennsylvania and New Yorker.
For many years a friend of mine stayed at the Edison, and always had good things to say. Over the last couple of years, though, I%26#39;ve seen some pretty poor reviews, and lately reports of mice.
I think the Carter may win top honors, just on the anecdotes alone. If I%26#39;m ever in the neighborhood I have to stop in, just to see the lobby.
It beats the Milford Plaza and the Penn, because by luck you actually can get a habitable room in either of those places.
Welcome back Voyagereuse you havn%26#39;t forgotten us. How is the new job going. Do you know what has happened to Nywhiz we all miss her very knowledgeable inputs.
Hi Waterford, I%26#39;m working from home today because of the snow. Newspaper work very busy, long nights when getting the paper pumped out, but I like it a lot. When I get a free minute now and again, I will pop in to say hi.
I hope your trip plans are going well Waterford. I think you will be the most organized NYC traveler when you next arrive.
Voy, I am always planning my next holiday I think my hubby thinks there are better than me locked up but, it is what I enjoy doing and there is no where I love going more than your wonderful country.
As badas this place seems to be, CitySearch.com rates it the 5th best hotel value hotel. It is rated an 8.1 out of 10.0. Go figure. I guess this is another sight I will visit when I am at the Big Apple.
The LaFountaine has got to be the worst.
Every time you walk past it, it seems like ther%26#39;e a new chalk outline of a body on the sidewalk in front of it and that yellow
';Crime Scene Do Not Cross'; tape by the Bellhop stand--who is usually a differant guy every week.
Now that I think of it, maybe it%26#39;s just a set for ';Law and Order';.
Carpenter, the search function shows zero results for it. Now I%26#39;m curious!
Sorry, Bettina, I was just having some fun with this thread. There are some really, really bad hotels that aren%26#39;t even mentioned on the internet because they were closed or torn down 20 years ago.
These places made the Carter look like the Four Seasons.
