My sister and I are coming to NY on April 2nd and would like to find a great restaurant where there might be some celebrities on the Upper West Side...any suggestions?
Good restaurant on Upper West Side
If you consider Columbus Circle, the Upper West Side, then you can look into the super high-end places at the new Time Warner center...bring a large credit card...

The Time Warner Center galleria, a favorite put-down target of Manhattan elitists, grows more bustling by the month. Gray Kunz will soon open a 70-seat bar and cafe in the midst of the third-floor public space overlooking the great hall.

Good restaurant on Upper West Side
I don%26#39;t know about celebrities (I never can figure out who anyone is) but Nice Matin, Cafe Des Artistes, and Isabella%26#39;s are great places to eat on the Upper West Side.
Apart from the VERY VERY pricey and chic restaurants in the Time Warner building (Per Se, Masa, Cafe Gray) on Columbus Circle, I don%26#39;t think of the UWS as a place for celeb spotting. Nick and Toni%26#39;s Cafe on west 67 st. is an off shot of a Hampton%26#39;s rest. (Nick and Toni%26#39;s) that does get celebs. Haven%26#39;t been to the NYC one. Ouest, Nice Matin and Kitchen 82 are some of the better rest. in the area though. Isabella%26#39;s is a very popular neighborhood place, esp. for weekend brunch.
Better celeb spotting downtown or even midtown. Joe Allen%26#39;s in the theater district after the shows get out (after 10pm) has definite celeb possibilities.
Thanks for all the info!
I dunno about the UWS being less populated by celebs. I%26#39;ve seen everyone from Lauren Bacall to Charlie Rangel in Zabar%26#39;s alone. Last week, while taking Maidstone Nic and family through Strawberry Fields, we spotted Yoko Ono walking by.
Bettina, I didn%26#39;t say the UWS was less populated by celebs. I said the UWS RESTAURANTS are not as sure fire for celeb sightings.
