We%26#39;re looking for a good video camcorder. I understand that you get what your pay for. Last time in NYC I bought some fake purses etc... in ChinaTown and all of them fell apart in a few months. Is there a reputable place in NYC where we should buy a camcorder or should we buy it at home where it can be returned if there%26#39;s a problem. What are some good reputable non chain place in NYC to buy electronics?---no fly by night places.

Well last time you were in new york should answer all your questions. What%26#39;s the point of buying it in new york, when you can buy it in colorado? This way, you can video yourself before you go, at the airport, etc.. It ain%26#39;t gonna be cheaper in new york city.

The 2 most well known electronics stores are J and R music and computer world (jandr.com) and B %26amp; H video. Check their websites and compare prices for what you can get at home. You can also buy off their website and perhaps save NYC sales tax.

Don%26#39;t get sucked in by the ';tourist trap'; electronics stores you%26#39;ll see on every other corner in the tourist areas! Only go to a reputable dealer. J%26amp;R has a good reputation. Personally, I buy everything at B%26amp;H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/). When I originally shopped for digital equipment, they were less expensive than anything on the web, and their service is top notch (and they give you candy while you wait on line!). Plus, you can handle all the equipment and compare features. Check their hours though, because they%26#39;re closed Friday afternoons and Saturdays.
