Opinion on Proposed Itinerary

My Husband and I will be visiting New York from April 20th to April 27 and would like some opinions/tips on our proposed itinerary. We have been before so have done helicopter ride, SOL, ESB (at night) but want to visit ESB during the day.

20th - Arrive at Newark around 5.15pm so too late to do anything other than get into Manhattan, unpack and walk around Murrayhill area (where we will be staying) then early night.

21st -Purchase Metro card $21 @ Grand Central Station Purchase Citypass (not sure where we get these)

B%26amp;H Photography to purchase digital camera

Times Square area to collect already pre-booked tickets for Lion King

Lunch somewhere (have acquired long list of eateries from this site)

Some shopping

Empire State Building

Dinner %26amp; Drinks in evening

22nd - New York Public Library, Rockefeller Centre, St Patricks Cathedral, Lunch, Museum of Modern Art as open late on Fridays then onto somewhere for dinner etc

23rd - Central Park - hire bikes, Guggenheim Museum

Have table booked at River Caf锟斤拷 for 7.30pm

24th - Ground Zero, St Paul%26#39;s Chapel, Woolworth Building

Chinatown, Little Italy, Walk to Cornelia Street Caf锟斤拷 for Brunch

Lion King, Dinner after show - is all this too much to fit in one day?

25th - Soho/Tribeca/Greenwich (recommended walking tour would be much appreciated), Circle Line Cruise in the evening

26th - Walk across Brooklyn bridge and spend time in Brooklyn and have lunch (possibly Grimaldi%26#39;s)

27th - some last minute shopping and then leave to fly home

Thanks for the reply lovelylynda, but now you have got me worried. Where did you hear that the Guggenheim was closed and for what reason?

Also doesnt anyone else have any thoughts on our proposed itinerary? Any comments would be gratefully received.

i will do a report when i cme back so looks aroudn the 14th march

i love to sight see but people watch

Since you%26#39;re asking for comments, I certainly like the spaciousness and opportunities for spontaneity of your less planned days versus the ';busy'; ones....so if it were me I would add some ';hanging out'; time.

At this time, The Plaza Hotel is scheduled to close on April 30th and be forever changed to include condominium conversions. I would definitely add afternoon tea in the Palm Court or at least a trip to see the timeless beauty (if a bit worn) of that grand space.

I just returned from three days in New York and was surprised how cheap/easy it was to arrange for an aiorport limo via Tel-Aviv or Dial up. If you haven%26#39;t tried that before, it%26#39;s a nice touch at very little additional cost.
