Okay so we%26#39;re hoping to visit the Apple Store in Greenwich Village...my fiance has always wanted an Ipod..i wouldn%26#39;t say no to one myself either..however i%26#39;m a little concerned will American Ipods work in the UK?? Is it true about the crap battery power??
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you have me an ipod could you give me the pro%26#39;s and con%26#39;s?
Ipods..
i got my ipod from the apple store in ny and it is fine. It charges through the firewire on your pc so there is no problem. As for battery life, all the new ipods are about 15 hours i think now, compared to the 8 i get out of mine. Pro%26#39;s too many to mention. Cons...you%26#39;ll just want to spend more on the fantastic accessories available. Also with the exchange rate the way it is you can%26#39;t go wrong with the price either.
Ipods..
Also try J and R near City Hall or B and H near Penn Station.
Both have web sites
www.jr.com and www.bhphotovideo.com
B %26amp; H is an experience in itself. Even if you buy elsewhere go and look at how to see camera%26#39;s and computers efficiently and quickly.
Will it work in UK ? - these shop sell to so many Brit%26#39;s that they sell UK models (Although with an I-pod it doesn%26#39;t matter)
Pros %26amp; Cons of an I-pod ? I wouldn%26#39;t buy one, I prefer Creative players. Still each to his own. Plenty of reviews here uk.pricegrabber.com
One good thing is that the volume goes higher on America I-Pods compared to UK pods.

Don%26#39;t worry about the American version, I bought one in NY last year and it was a simple case of re-formatting it from Apple to Windows. It comes with easy to follow instructions, I%26#39;m no computer expert and did it easily. Depending on your own computer, you may need to buy a USB lead if you don%26#39;t have a firewire port. I don%26#39;t think the battery life is an issue, do you realy want it plugged in for 8 hours a day ? Probably not, so just re-charge it regularly. I love my Ipod and wouldn%26#39;t be without it. Also, I would recommend the 20gb version. Hope this helps.
If buying in the US make sure you don%26#39;t have to pay extra for the accessories (case/remote) that come as standard here in England.
